Ingenious motorbike for wheelchair users
As you know, scooters are Taiwan’s most important and most popular means of transportation. Why should wheelchair users be excluded?
At the Chiayi High Speed Rail station, I recently came across this vehicle:

Isn’t this great? They basically took a scooter, sawed it in half and shifted the back part, including the engine, to the left. In the center, they added a platform.
The ramp can be lowered and raised with an electric motor, much like a medieval drawbridge.
The driver (or rider?) can handle the scooter directly from the wheelchair. And a second person can sit on the passenger seat, much like in a side car.
To handicapped persons in Taiwan, this could be a real liberation.
I am not sure what the German TÜV would have to say about this vehicle, but I would love to see it in traffic.
Finding a parking space might be a problem in the cities, though.
Have you ever seen anything like this? What do you think?
